Hybrid Dodge Ram for 2010?

April 17, 2008 |

Chrysler’s Dodge Ram lineup could see the addition of hybrid electric-gas power by 2010, according to sources. At the moment it looks likely that Chrysler Dodge will be looking to use the experience and design expertise gained in the launch of two new hybrid-version models in 2008. The 2008 Dodge Durango hybrid and the Chrysler Aspen Hybrid are both forecast to be launched in summer-fall of this year.

The drive system of the 2010 Ram is likely to be similar to that of the upcoming Durango and Aspen hybrid SUV models. The system will also be based on on high capacity nickel metal hydride batteries to optimise the vehicles input from hybrid electric power. Chrysler is still very much in the woods with regard to its future, but its encouraging to see a bit of forward thinking and the willingness to look at bringing hybrid power to ‘classic’, everyday American vehicles.
